Beach day, take 1

This was the view from my lawn chair at 2:00 pm on Saturday! 
We found a free (we're Dutch you know :) beach on Lake Erie that was beautiful! 
It was part of a large park with tennis courts, playgrounds, volleyball nets, and lots of room to roam. 
The beach itself was beautiful! The water in Lake Erie isn't all that warm yet, but it was refreshing after sitting in the warm sun! 

It was just the two of us for the day, and we went out for dinnner at a little hole-in-the-wall family diner that sells local fish.

We enjoyed fish and chips along the canal, watching the boats go to and fro.

We finished off the night at Dairy Queen (and also, how cool is that DQ sign? LOVE!)

Really, I couldn't ask for a better partner. I love going on adventures like this (we decided to go to the beach at 11 in the morning, and by 1 we had packed up, found a new beach, and were enjoying lunch with the sand beneath our toes.)

Life gets busy, but never too busy for things like this!
