Thank you Lord!

Today marked another step in this journey we are on.  We met with our worker to begin our homestudy.

We've already started PRIDE training as well.

I must say that we were nervous. The night before our first session in PRIDE, I was ill with worry.  What will it be like? Who will be there? Will we like our practitioner?  Will there be conflict?  I tend to worry about everything, so it was not wonder that I worried about this as well.

And again, I shouldn't have.  God knows it all! He has it under control!  It's in His plan.

And now, looking back on the last few weeks and ahead at the meetings still planned, the visits that need to be done, the mound of paper work, the only thing I can think to say, is "thank you Lord!"

For a fabulous practitioner!
For time to complete the paperwork.
For friendly, helpful, kind people to take the course with.
For the strength to continue on.

We are blessed!

  1. Excited to hear the next step in your journey! I hope and pray all goes well!

  2. I just found your blog this morning..should be doing laundry, but hey! I wanted to share that my hubby and I did the PRIDE course as well, to become foster parents. I always compare the whole process to a pregnancy, since from the first of the 9 units to the day we received a tiny little baby girl in our home was 9 months! It is a very intrusive and thought provoking process, but it was very much manageable. You will both do just fine! All the best to you. Oh, and if ever you wonder in your heart of hearts whether you would love your 'own' biological child more than an adopted one? I have given birth, and I have fostered numerous babies, and I can honestly tell you that there is nothing to worry about. I love my foster babies ABSOLUTELY as much as my bio kids, and possibly even a touch more when I think about some of their humble beginnings. Hope that I haven't overshared here, but I had always wondered if you could love them the same....There is NO difference. (except that we have had to give our precious little ones back and that has been/still is heartbreaking)

  3. Hi Theresa! I just caught up on your blog and am SO excited to see things are rolling for you! Very much looking forward to what the Lord has in store for you!
